The Sister's Award! // with Teddie and Phoebe

Phoebe and Teddie were nominated for "The Sister's Award" by Mira Elizabeth over at Days of Dollight. Thank you!

 

I made an image for the award since I'm not aware of any existing image. My nominees (or other's nominees) are welcome to use it too!

Here are the rules:

 

1. Thank the person who nominated you, and leave a link to their blog.

2. Answer the eleven questions given for your sister, and have your sister do the same for you. That way, we can compare and contrast both of you! (***NOTE: For the most part I'm just going to be doing it like each girl is answering the question on their own behalf, not for the other girl. It will just be like they are talking.***)

Which of you is older?

 

 Phoebe: We're both twelve!

Teddie: Yeah, but you're two months older.

Phoebe: Oh yeah.

 

What's your favorite thing to do together?

 

 Teddie: We like to sit in my bedroom and just hang out and chat.

Phoebe: And play on our apps and stuff.

 

What's your sister's favorite food?

 

 Phoebe: Teddie likes to drink tea a lot.

What's one character trait in the other you appreciate? 

Teddie: Phoebe appreciates history. She is very outgoing and eccentric, which helps me come out of my bubble a little.

Phoebe: I think your bubble is cool. I like that you know when to be on the safe side.

What's one character trait that you don't appreciate?

 

 Phoebe: I don't really know.

Teddie: No comment.

 

What's one hobby you have that the other does not?

 

 Teddie: I like to write, but Phoebe doesn't do that.

Phoebe: I have two dolls that I love, but Teddie doesn't have any, so I guess you could say that is a hobby we don't share. 

 

Who keeps a cleaner room?

 

 Teddie: Well my room is pretty clean.

Phoebe: So's mine!
Teddie: That's probably just because your room is basically empty because you are still moving in.

Phoebe: Oh yeah.

 

What's the biggest way your sister can annoy you?

 

 Teddie: Phoebe is very energetic sometimes when I want to relax.

Phoebe: Teddie doesn't ever really want to dress up with me.

Teddie: Does that annoy you?
Phoebe: Sometimes.

Teddie: Oh, I'm sorry.

 

Describe each other in three words.

 

 Phoebe: I would say that Teddie is sensible, pretty, and smart.

Teddie: Phoebe is funny, outgoing, and energetic.

 

How do you differ personality-wise?

 

 Phoebe: Ubbi cubban spubeak ububbi dububbi!

Teddie: Being able to speak ubbi dubbi isn't a personality trait, Phoebe! *laughing*

Phoebe: Well I still can!

 

 Why do you love each other?

Teddie: When Phoebe came this last year to the house, we just clicked!

Phoebe: We are kindred spirits.

Teddie: Yeah, we are.

My Thoughts on the New Release!

Since I never got around to doing a post on Z's release, I thought I'd talk about what I think of the new items AG released today. You can see them all on the American Girl website here. I'll just be mentioning the 18inch doll stuff, so to see the human, Wellie, pet, and Bitty items be sure to visit the AG website.

 This is Gabby's cute bed. I think all the little items have great play value. 

                                      

Also for Gabriela, this is a cute set, but I think the pieces are small for $75. I saw one blogger mentioned that there is a MyLife chair almost just like this one for about $10. 

                                          

This is Gabby's "Take Flight" performance outfit. The top and the skirt are separate. With the skirt being sheer, I feel like the top should be a leotard. The details (like the butterflies) are nice. The green top has silver threads mixed in. The slippers are cool.

                                      

Tenney's "Sparkling Performance Outfit" is one of my favorites from this release. Although I don't usually buy American Girl clothing except on rare occasions (i.e. 2016 penguin pajamas), I see a lot of mix and match potential for the shoes and jacket.

                                          

Logan's performance outfit seems a bit simple to me, but that's fine because Logan needs more clothing and if it's versatile then all the better! The jacket is very cute. 

                                        

                                          

I hadn't seen the three new Truly Me dolls until the release today. #69 reminds me of #55, but her hair is shorter, more like #33's style. She also has brown eyes.

                                         

agwebkinz010 on YouTube had a custom doll that looked like #68 (I'm not sure if she still has here) and I thought she was pretty cute! 

                                             

This doll reminds me of #46 and Gabriela.... But this girl's hair is so much longer! She is #69. How long would her hair be if it was straightened??? 😮

There are also several new Dolls Without Hair (70, 71, and, 72); they are "limited quantity".

Oh also! I like the new TM meet outfit! Even though the shoes are apparently plastic, I still like them. They are sparkly, after all.

                                     

This hotel theme is such a good idea! It can also just be a doll's bedroom (like Tenney???). I like that the back is like the front desk of the hotel.

                                       

This is a nice set to go with the hotel theme.

                                               

 This reminds me of Grace's suitcase; I think doll suitcases are adorable.

                                         

This goes with the hotel as well! The food appears to be a cinnamon roll, fruit, and bacon. I like it!

                                           

These items seem small for $28, but the sunglasses!! I like the color scheme.

                                           

 I like this color! This is a travel dress.

                                             

This dress is made of corduroy.

                                           

I like this tank top, but I would put it with something other than that skirt. 

                                              

I think these items would be better if they were paired differently. I really like the shoes!

                                           

I really like this sweater. I feel like my dolls need more long sleeve stuff. The skirt is kind of Eastery, I think, which is just fine with me.

                                          

Okay, the sweater goes with these leggings much better.

                                                

I like the color and design of the top! The boots I really like, since I don't have Grace.

                                           

                                           

 I like more glasses for dolls! The colors of these are so wonderful!

                                             

This is blue (I know a lot of AG fans want more blue/green rather than pink/purple) and Logan could totally wear this!!

                                         

I know there has been many lunch sets, but I like these tacos!

                                          

I see a lot of play value in this set, with a tablet, pencil, notebooks, cards, paper, etc. etc. I like the design of the backpack! What does the key go to?

                                             

This is blue like most lockers I see!

                                        

Lastly is this hamster set. I really like this! It's unique. The lid comes off and everything can come out (except for the shavings I think).

Two More Attempts // sewing dress design

It's June! 

I decided to try to improve the dress that I recently made for Beth, which resulted in 2 variations of it so far. Neither of them are what I would want the final design to be, so I still have at least one more redo in mind.

This is the first. I made it from a purple t-shirt. To me, it kind of looks like a bridesmaid dress.

This is the second. It turned out too short to be a dress, so I threw some leggings on underneath.

When I took the two dolls out for pictures of the top and dress, I wasn't planning on taking additional photos. But, I ended up taking more XD

Phoebe gets along with everyone in the doll house well, but when she arrived she and Teddie quickly became best friends.
