My Thoughts: "Create Your Own Line" (what we know so far)

I tried to post this a few days ago, but Blogger wasn't letting me so here I am again. I had to copy and paste the text so that's why it's not the normal color and font.

American Girl's new "Create Your Own" line of dolls is rumored to be released July 24. The dolls will be available online and in the flagship stores, and they will be $200 each. The price also includes an outfit, accessory set, unique t-shirt designed by you, and a subscription the AG magazine. For a custom doll, this is relatively reasonable, since currently you have to buy multiple dolls to make a custom doll, with each doll being at least $115.  If there are coupons (like the 20% that sometimes come with catalogs) that would lower the price a lot too. I'll just be talking about what can be deduced from the pictures American Girl has released. 

I am excited for the dolls to be released, because I want to go online and see how you can design the dolls. I think it would be fun to design some dolls, especially if they give you previews of how they would look :)

Also, there appears to be quite a few hair and eye color options that are not currently found in any of the doll lines.

For example, the photo above has a doll with short hair and bangs (Ivy mold), and the Sonali mold doll has curly hair and bangs. The curly blonde hair has not ever been available either. I think this line will be cool, because girls can get a doll that looks almost exactly like them. There are over a million combinations!

In the online pictures and in the catalog, I can also see that Tenney's eye color and grey will also be available. We'll have to wait and see what else comes from the release of this line!
