Great Doll Blog Award

AmICuteorWhat recently nominated for the Great Doll Blogs Award! Thank you so much AmICuteorWhat, this is the first time my blog has been nominated for an award! :D

The Award Rules are:
  • Thank the person that nominated you
  • Answer the question given to you
  • Nominate at least 5 others who you think has a great doll blog
  • Notify them that they have an award
  • Leave them at least 5 questions to answer.
Let us begin! AmICuteorWhat's questions were...

What was your very first doll? AG or other.

My first AG doll was Brooke, JLY #39.

If you had to name one of your dolls after a character from a movie or book who would it be and why?

Actually, all of my American Girl dolls are named after characters in the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott :) I named them all from the book because I like the book, and it's fun to have each of the girls have a related name I think.

Who is your favorite Girl of the Year doll?

 Mckenna or Mia. (I think that both of their wigs are really unique.)

What is your favorite Historical AG outfit?

Hmmmm. Maybe BeForever Samantha's meet outfit. The pink color is so cute :)

What is your favorite thing about having a doll blog?

I love having a blog because I enjoy taking pictures of my dolls or projects and sharing them with my readers!

Now I will nominate people...

American Girl Place
The Jellbean Dollies
Abriella Animated
Clara's Craft Corner

I tried to pick blogs that haven't already been nominated. Sorry if I doubled up! And since there are so many great doll blogs, if your blog hasn't been nominated, I nominate you as my fifth nominee!

My questions are:

If you could have any doll (AG or other), who would you want?
Who is your favorite Girl of the Year?
Why did you start your doll blog?
If you could have any custom doll, what would her features be?
What is your favorite kind of post to make?

Thanks again to AmICuteorWhat!

The Trip --- Final Part

I'm so excited for this part!!!

~~~~~~
The girls arrived home from their trip and took of their sandals.
Maggie exclaimed, "Oh my!" For what stood before them but...
A new girl!
"Oh, I hope you don't mind that I let myself in," the girl apologized.
The other girls were thrilled to meet the new girl. They all shook hands.
"Hi, I'm Maggie," Maggie said.
The new girl introduced herself, "Nice to meet you. My name is Teddie Rose, but you can call me Teddie."
After some moments of excited exchanges of greetings, Brooke turned on her camera.
"Photo op!"
They all got a selfie together!
~~~~~~~

Yes I got a new doll! I thought Maryellen was so cute from the time I first saw her almost a year ago. Although Maggie and her have the same hazel eye color, I feel that she is a unique addition to my doll family because of her cute strawberry hair and bangs. I am so excited to introduce her personality and make her a room of her own :) Yay!

So, were you surprised by the ending of this photo story?  :D

The Trip --- Part 4

Time for part 4, which includes pictures of Disneyland!

~~~~~~
After an evening spent in Downtown Disney and a good night's sleep at the hotel, the girl's woke up ready to get to the park. The girls walked excitedly down the street.
            “Look!” Beth squealed, pointing up.
Maggie and Brooke both looked up and saw…
 “Disneyland!"
~~~

Brooke snapped a lot of shots with her new pink camera...

Yum... :)

Beth noticed that one of the wait area speeches for Star Tours was the same voice as Tasha from Adventures in Odyssey and the voice of Wooton (also from AIO) sings on Splash Mountain!

The girls finished the day by watching the fireworks show, Disneyland Forever! It was spectacular and during the Frozen part it snowed!

They also met some Disney characters!

Silvermist :)

Snow White!

and Kylo Ren!

I hope you enjoyed this part! There's more to come!

2 Years! // Brooke and Curly Photo Shoot

Not my picture :)

It's April 27 and today marks 2 years blogging about my dolls! Yay! In case you don't know, I started this Blogger blog last summer, but before that I posted the same sorts of things on my Wordpress blog. I basically just switched locations because my Wordpress was out of space.

Anyway, I am so happy to have started blogging about dolls! And I love reading all your fun blogs! I have learned a lot about photography and sewing. When I started I had one American Girl 18" doll, and, well, the family keeps growing! I have also started an Etsy shop which has been great :)

I will interrupt my photo story for this photo shoot of Brooke and her dog, Curly. Enjoy :D

Thank you for supporting my blog and I look forward to making many more fun posts!

PS The next part of the photo story will be up tomorrow :)

New In My Etsy Shop

This week I listed a bunch of cute new things in my Etsy shop!  Since there were quite a few necklaces, I made a collage of some of them.

From top left: palm trees, camera, castle, ice cream cone, treble clef, "cowgirl", "dance", a ship, and a compass. They were a lot of fun to make!

This is a muscle tank with a blue rhinestone star; perfect for a patriotic doll!

Also, this pineapple necklace!

The Trip --- Part 3

Time for Part 3 of the girls' trip!

~~~~~~
            “Chewie, light speed!” Maggie said as the plane ascended.
            “Sure thing, Rey!” Beth returned.
            “Wow! Nothing but clouds,” Brooke said in wonder as she took a picture.
APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS LATER
            “We’re here!” Maggie jumped into the air.
            “California!” Brooke squealed. “Hey, check out those palm trees!”
            Maggie tugged on Brooke’s arm, “Come on let’s go to Disneyland!”
~~~~~~~

Stay tuned for Part 4!

The Trip - Part 2

Part 2 of the photo story!

            Brooke rolled the suitcase down the driveway. “Come on girls!”
            Maggie and Beth clamored behind her, chatting away.

            “We are going to go on an airplane!” Maggie gasped.

            Beth asked, “Are you scared?”

            “No way! I’m going to pretend I’m in Star Wars!” Maggie ran around pretending to be the Millennium Falcon.

            Brooke called the girls over, “Come on, the shuttle is here.”
            Beth said, “Here we go!"

            At the airport, the girls waited for their flight to board.

            Maggie blinked, “How long until our plane leaves? We’ve been waiting forever!”
            A voice over the loudspeaker said, “Flight 12A now boarding.”
            Beth’s eyes popped open, “That’s us!”

            Brooke told the other girls, "Time to go!"

            The girls clamored off to board the plane.

To Be Continued...
